Sakura Wood Smoked Black Tea

from $15.00

Spiced green plum. Whisky smoke. Dandelions. Burnt Sugar.

“Wakocha” or Japanese black tea is rarely produced in a nation primarily of green tea drinkers. That didn’t stop Hiroki Matsumoto with Kaneroku Matsumoto Tea Garden from trying new and exciting ways to play with the time honored tradition.

Sakura wood (cherry blossom) sourced from the award winning Ichiro Distillery in Chichibu, Tokyo is used to perfume this traditionally cultivated wakocha, grown using grass mats and organic compost. No flavorings or additives were used; just smoke, time, and love.

Smokey, rich and mouth watering. Slight spice and plum notes. If you enjoy Lapsang Souchong or Russian Caravan, but want a more subtle experience, then look no further.
